The Projects' Studies and Consultancy department carries out in-depth review of
industrial projects feasibility studies besides rendering consultancy and
guidance services on marketing and technical aspects for investors before and
after obtaining the loan.
The responsibilities of the department ca be summed up as follows;

Review of the various industrial sectors separately and submit recommendations
regarding the appropriate lending policies to be adopted for enhancement of the
overall performance and upgrade the viability of each individual sector.

Tendering necessary advise to investors as needed on technical, administrative,
and marketing areas over the period of their relation with the Fund.

Preparing various feasibility and statistical studies related to the industrial
sector of the Kingdom.

Conducting marketing research studies relating to the industrial sector.
The department consists of the following specialized divisions operating under

Technical Consultancy Division:
The Technical Consultancy Division is responsible for technical appraisal of
industrial projects. Appraisals conducted by the division cover assessment of
capital and operating costs as well as evaluation of the technologies to be
applied. The mission of the division is aimed towards the verification of the
technical viability of industrial projects and assisting the Fund’s management
in taking the decisions that require technical expertise. Moreover, it is
responsible for conducting technical studies and rendering technical
consultancy services to certain industrial sectors for the purposes of
investigating modern technologies and productivity levels for local
manufacturing plants.
Marketing Consultancy Division:
The Marketing Consultancy Division plays and important role within the Fund as
it studies and analyzes marketing information in order to build solid base for
management decisions. The division also assists project’s sponsors in
formulating solid marketing strategies to improve their industries and
strengthen their position in the local and international markets.
Moreover, the division conducts appraisals of the projects submitted to the
Fund from the marketing point of view and forward clear-cut specific
recommendations on their viability. It conducts marketing studies on some
industrial sectors to
enable the Fund to consider their
eligibility for financing along with marketing consultancy services for
operating projects financed by the Fund, particularly those facing marketing
difficulties, and making necessary recommendations to overcome problems
encountered.
Other division functions include the study of export markets and the
opportunities for local factories to export and help sponsors in designing
their appropriate export strategies.
Research Division:
The Research Division is having the capacity to act through four composing
units i.e., the market research unit, economic studies unit, and statistical
studies unit.
This division is perceived as a primary source of information, reports and
studies with essence to all SIDF Departments and leading staff. The services of
the division extend to cover other external institutions on demand.
It is the mission of the division to provide support services for information
and consultancy to the senior management and SIDF departments and division in
the areas of economic, statistical and marketing information and consultancy
through data analysis, processing of economic and statistical data, market
research studies and publishing related periodical reports.
The division further prepares research works, studies and undertakes field
surveys in the areas of economy, statistics, and market research and responds
to the inquiries received from the Fund and also from external institutions on
economic, statistical and other issues falling within the scope of the division
work and functionality.
Data Analysis & Technical Assistance Division:
The aim of the Data Analysis and Technical Assistance Division (DATAD) is to
deploy the available growing resource of industrial data and knowledge, and
benefit from the substantial development of information technology in order to
achieve aspiration of industrial investors. The DATA division main objective is
the collection and analysis of the industrial data compiled by the Fund over
the past years for the in-house use, and for the use of borrowers and
industrial sector investors.
It also offers technical assistance in the field of industrial project
appraisal through the two units of industrial Construction and Industrial
Safety responsible for assessment of civil works and project premises adequacy
to the nature of the industry, in addition to the evaluation of safety measures
taken by borrower projects. In this latter instance, the industrial safety
unit ascertains that fire protection and other risk protection guidelines and
regulations are adhered to and making sure that comprehensive protection
measures for the Kingdom’s environment are in place.
