General Objectives
To lay a foundation of Information Technology application strategies to enable
the Fund to plan and achieve its objectives and to improve in decision making
processes.
The IT Department consists of the following Divisions:

Applications Development Division
v
Principal Objectives:
§
Establish and manage all Divisional activities to provide professional level
services to the users.
§
Liaise with all departments to establish effective communications for
identifying business applications requirements to meet their objectives.
§
Identify optimum ways to integrate departmental business needs, in order to
streamline Fund operations.
§
Research, recommend and develop the necessary business applications to support
agreed objectives, within budget and to acceptable quality standards.
§
Re-engineer the legacy business applications to accommodate emerging
Information Technology trends.

User Support Division

Principal Objectives:
§
Establish and manage all Divisional activities to provide professional level
services to the users.
§
Liaise with all departments and other divisions within the department to
identify the business applications support requirements to meet their
objectives.
§
Support all users in their operational business applications.
§
Provide support to users for the maintenance and required enhancement of
operational business applications.
§
Assist and train users in current business applications.
§
Secure and maintain the integrity of corporate data.
- IT Consultancy & Quality Division
v
Principal Objectives:
§
Establish and manage all Divisional activities to provide professional services
to the users.
§
Provide chargeable Information Technology consultancy services, to the Fund and
its customers.
§
Ensure the quality of delivered business applications and services.
§
Liaise with other divisions within the department to develop and ensure
adherence to policies, standards and procedures.
- Technical Support Division

Principal Objectives:
§
Establish and manage all Divisional activities to provide professional services
to the users
§
Liaise with departments to establish effective communications for identifying
technical IT requirements to meet their business objectives
§
Research, evaluate and implement state of the art technologies as appropriate
to the Fund’s requirements.
§
Define and implement the necessary policies, standards and procedures to ensure
the security, integrity and availability of the Fund’s hardware, software and
data.
§
Provide and manage the technical environment and services to support the
objectives of the Fund and other divisions within the department.
§
Identify IT user training requirements and plans and co-ordinate with the Human
Resources-Training & Development Division.
